About Bent Surovy Gallery

Bent Surovy Gallery is run by the renowned Hamburg artist Burkhard Schittny, whose work has been honoured in major art competitions and exhibited internationally. The gallery specialises in his oeuvre, but also shows works by befriended artists on an irregular basis. The programme focuses on object art, painting, illustration, photography and AI-supported prints.

In addition to Schittny's wall objects "Tubes", the gallery concentrates in his unique "Ink Paintings". They are available as strictly limited edition prints in various sizes - with only 3 works of each size existing worldwide.

The pieces quote the graphic art of the 1960s and 1970s and blend minimalism and elegance with unique distinct colouring. In these new works, Burkhard Schittny integrates theories and ideas from the Bauhaus, Constructivism, Hard Edge and Minimalism. His themes are geometry, shapes, colours and abstraction - creating new international abstract art classics of the 21st century.

But that's not all: in further collections, he creates more images - also with the help of increasingly refined AI. The "Washington" collection, for example, clearly shows its technical background. The "Tokyo" group shows images of colourful sculptures that weave a line from Bauhaus to surreal 21st century imagery. Burkhard Scittny's imagination seems limitless: he is a chameleon of art, a pictorial wizard who succeeds in reinventing himself time and again at the highest level of ideas and with exquisite craftsmanship.

The precise execution of his "Ink Paintings" is carried out under conservation guidelines on the finest museum paper. The artworks are authenticated by an embossing stamp and are thus protected against imitation.
